The first set of tickets for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia went on sale on Thursday, September 14.
The World Cup may not be until June 2018 but adequate preparations are underway to ensure that fans who make the trip to Russia will have a hassle-free experience. Unlike previous editions of the tournament where tickets could easily be obtained through third-party firms and commercial ticket agents, FIFA has introduced a new system to ensure transparency and curb any illegalities.
How can I get a ticket?
As stated above, in order for FIFA to ensure a fair and lucid allocation of tickets, the procedure for the acquisition of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia tickets has been segmented into three phases.
For the first and second phases, fans who apply for the tickets on FIFA.com will be able to request tickets on a Random Selection Draw basis between 14th September 2017 and 12th October 2017. The remaining tickets will then be available to be purchased while stock lasts from 16th November 2017 to 28th November 2017.
According to the official FIFA website, this is being done to ensure that the available inventory for a given match and/or ticket category isn’t exceeded. Both procedures above will be repeated in Phase two from 5th December 2017 to 31st January 2018 and 13th March 2018 to 3rd April 2018, respectively.
During the third phase, which will run from 18th April 2018 up until the final match of the competition is played, the remaining tickets, if there are any, will be available to all customers online and also at designated FIFA Venue Ticketing Centers during match-days.
The Random Selection Draw period is now open and therefore fans who would like to apply for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia tickets can kindly follow the steps below:
