On Matchday 1 against Parma, the superstar forward was controversially denied by VAR. Replays showed the decision to cancel CR7’s goal for offside was questionable.

This time, in the blockbuster against Napoli which eventually finished 4-3 for the hosts, Ronaldo was at the right place, at the right time, to bury the ball home. The best thing about his first Serie A goal of the 2019/20 season has to be his celebration: banter against VAR.
After putting Juventus 3-0 up in the 62nd minute, the ex-Real Madrid attacker ran to the sideline to simulate the Video Assistant Referee “screen gesture” asking the crowd to “calm down” in case the goal got disallowed.
