The former Barcelona midfielder Xavi elected the strength of Cristiano Ronaldo when asked to create his Ultimate Player.
Well, that’s a first. Usually the ex-Spanish international fancies a top spot on the Ronaldo haters spectrum. The player who now plies his service with Qatari club Al-Sadd has been critical of the Portuguese international since his move away from La Liga.
Most of the player’s name appearing in headlines in recent times is due to him occasionally throwing shade at Cristiano Ronaldo. Yet, Xavi’s provocations have hardly attracted the response he desires from the Real Madrid forward who usually rubbishes the insinuations.

Apparently, the ex-Barca star had been admiring a peculiar footballing attribute of the iconic number 7’s from afar and he made this revelation in an interview with CNN.
“Strength? Maybe Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He’s a very physical player.
“He’s an example of it,” Xavi declared as he continued with the construction of his ultimate player.
Other players such as former teammates Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta, Javier Mascherano as well as David Beckham and Gerard Pique were named in the first touch, technique and vision, personality, fashion sense and hairstyle categories respectively.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s club teammate Gareth Bale was named alongside Eden Hazard, Lionel Messi and Pedro in the acceleration assemblage.
