It is arguably Real Madrid´s most important match of the La Liga season as they travel to Celta Vigo on Wednesday.
This midweek encounter is as a result of the primitively scheduled fixture between the two sides which was postponed in early February. Heavy rainstorm damaged part of the Baladois Stadium and, as a result, forced the city council to rule the venue unsafe to host the match.
Zidane and his men were initially unhappy about the verdict and wanted to play through the unfavorable conditions considering their clustered schedule during that period. A lot has elapsed since that period but Real Madrid is still in contention for the league title as well as a back-to-back cup win in the UEFA Champions League.

Match preview
With just two games left for the Spanish capital club, a win and a draw will be more than sufficient to snatch the title from rivals Barcelona. But of course, the first challenge is the upcoming game versus Celta Vigo. A favorable result on Wednesday will mean that the league title could be won in the final game of the season which is also a trip away to Malaga.

Real Madrid head to the Estadio Municipal de Baladois at the back of a 4:1 victory over Sevilla on Matchday 37. Goals from Nacho and Toni Kroos, as well as a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo, emphatically sealed the win at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Portuguese forward, as a result, extended his total goal tally for Los Blancos to 402 in all competitions.
402 and counting. We will never stop. Everyday Ronaldo. pic.twitter.com/UFwfJk4rr7

It has been a bumpy ride for him this season but the 32-year-old striker has really spurred the current Champions League holders on with his incredible goalscoring prowess. Although the Pichichi race is virtually over with Lionel Messi sitting atop the leaderboard with 35 goals and with just a game left to play, Cristiano Ronaldo’s 22 goals in 27 games are quite impressive considering he missed some games at the beginning of the season through injury.
His overall performance has seen him being tipped as the favorite for yet another Ballon d’Or award in an online poll conducted by France Football Magazine not so long ago. However, for that to be fully realized, the former Manchester United man must show his worth in these last few games of the season, starting with Celta Vigo.
Real win the league – Ronaldo takes the Ballon Dor probably, Real win champions league then he deffo takes it

The Real Madrid all-time top scorer already knows his way around the Vigo club having scored 18 times in 11 appearances against them. It will be really interesting how the clash turns out considering the Galicians are yet to win a game for the first time since April 16.

Nonetheless, it is worth noting that Eduardo Berizzo’s men eliminated the Whites from this season’s Copa del Rey via a 4:3 aggregate win in the quarter-finals of the competition. They also upset Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first round of the league campaign in a 2:1 scoreline.
Real Madrid must be very careful with Celta Vigo tonight. They beat Barcelona 4-3 when Messi and Co. visited Balaídos last October…

With that in perspective, Zinedine Zidane will look to pick his strongest side possible as a slip-up will prove very costly for Real Madrid’s league title aspiration.
