After winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, the Portuguese superstar isn’t resting on his laurels as he’s already with his national side ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match with Latvia.
After the game, the iconic number 7 and his teammates are scheduled to fly to Russia for the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup. The Seleccao has been seeded in Group A with hosts Russia, as well as New Zealand and Mexico. The intercontinental competition is expected to run from the June 17 to July 2, where the final will be played at the Saint Petersburg Stadium.
If things go as planned, Portugal should be leaving on the final day with their second international trophy. However, this theory has caused fans to be speculative about Cristiano Ronaldo’s availability for the preseason El Clasico in Miami on July 29, as well as the UEFA Super Cup clash with Manchester United on August 8.
Obviously, the four-time Ballon d’Or winner will need some time off after his international duties. However, fans are convinced that he needs an extended holiday break than the 27 days between the Confederations Cup final and El Clasico in Miami. That way, he can return fresh and ready for the 2017/2018 season.
These assertions are, once again, still theoretical as no official statement has been released by Real Madrid CF or Cristiano Ronaldo’s representatives. Nonetheless, C.Ronaldo Daily will do well to keep you posted if any news emerges. Watch this space.
