It’s been 8 years since Cristiano Ronaldo departed the English Premiership for La Liga but his legacy still lives on.
If reports are to be believed, the Portuguese star is a bit unsettled after a lawsuit tying him to tax crimes was filed against him by prosecutors in Spain. As a result, the infuriated 32-year-old forward is believed to be on the move; at least not until he was supposedly calmed by the club president’s words in an interview on Monday.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move back to England with his former club Manchester United being his preferred destination. Numerous reports suggest that the fee involved to secure the signature of the number 7 shirted player will be in the region of 140 million euros.
Could the prodigal son actually make his long anticipated return? In case he does, which at the moment feels unlikely following latest development in the whole frenzy, will he be the person to break his own record of scoring the most goals in a single EPL season (42 goals in 49 games in the 2007/2008 season)?
REMINDER: nobody in England has scored 40+ goals since Cristiano Ronaldo did in 2007-08. Here’s every goal. https://t.co/8NP0uNX7JX
