Cristiano Ronaldo named as the most charitable athlete

Cristiano Ronaldo has once again topped the list of the most charitable athletes in the world.

When it comes to giving back to the society, it is highly doubtful there is a sportsperson who goes above and beyond like Cristiano Ronaldo does on a daily. From cancer charity auctions through to the trendy Ice Bucket challenge to raise funds for the treatment of ALS, as well as helping Syrian refugees through the Save the Children Foundation, the philanthropy work of the football icon knows no boundaries.

Again, be it blood donation, a fundraiser to curb an epidemic or just a mere appearance to put smiles on the faces of victims of insufferable causes, Ronaldo never turns his back. The latest research by the renowned charity website revealed the current world’s best football player as the most charitable athlete on the globe.

Following closely behind the Real Madrid ace is another amiable performer who resides under the World Wrestling Entertainment franchise. WWE superstar John Cena, also noted for granting over 500 wishes of fans via the Make-a-Wish Foundation, was named in second place behind CR7 for the second time in three years.

Female tennis pro, Serena Williams, and figure skating sensation, Yuna Kim, followed respectively in third and fourth place, with Barcelona star Neymar completing the top five. Here is the top 10 list of the world’s most charitable athlete as per

  1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Footballer)
  2. John Cena (Wrestler)
  3. Serena Williams (Tennis Pro)
  4. Yuna Kim (Figure skating)

  6. LeBron James (NBA Player)
  7. Heather O’Reilly (Footballer)
  8. Maria Sharapova (Tennis Pro)
  9. Mo’ne Davis (Baseball)

It is quite surprising that a certain Barcelona star, who happens to be the second highest earning footballer and also evade taxes, failed to make the top 10 list. Well, it isn’t our money, is it?
