Zidane ends speculations surrounding Ronaldo’s future

Zinedine Zidane is convinced he will be working with his most-prized asset once again when the 2017/2018 season commences.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible exit has been the talk of the town for the most part of this summer’s transfer window. However, that ship seems to have sailed after reports emerged that the four-time Ballon d’Or winner is settled and, as a result, has rescinded his decision to force a move out of the Spanish capital club.

The Portuguese star is yet to join his side in the United States for the preseason as he has been given an extended vacation after representing his country in the recently ended FIFA Confederations Cup. However, Zidane expects things to be as they were last season when he returns.

Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo in the UEFA Champions League
Ronaldo was very influential in Zidane’s side’s successes last season.

“He is on vacation. He is resting and deserves it,” Zidane stated in an interview with ESPN.

“We will wait and when the vacation ends, he will return with us and that’s it.

“Talk to Cristiano? No, because in the end Cristiano is at Madrid and is going to stay with us and that’s it.”

Cristiano Ronaldo and his buddies Ricardo Regufe, Jose Semedo, and Miguel Paixao, are currently on a commercial trip. On Friday, the iconic number 7 is expected to sign a major endorsement deal with the part-owners of his image rights, Mint Media, in Singapore. He will then fly over to Shangai on July 22 and, subsequently, Beijing on July 23 to fulfill certain obligations for his biggest sponsors, Nike.
