Cristiano Ronaldo will be kick-starting his acting career properly by casting in an upcoming American movie.
Hollywood may have gotten their guy, after all. The four-time Ballon d’Or winner, having turned down their offer to give up on football and pursue a career in acting some years ago, seems to have reconsidered his decision. But he is still not giving up football, regardless.
Home Box Office, the network that broadcasts the acclaimed TV series Game of Thrones, is collaborating with the 32-year-old football icon to star in an upcoming movie dubbed the “Brooklyn Boys”. Ronaldo’s delegate in consultations with the American firm, Ruben Malaret, exclusively told HollywoodLife.com that the iconic number 7 will play his namesake with a role as a pilot.
The HBO show will be filmed at the Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, NY, where the football icon will co-star alongside Dennis Romero.
“As we’ve seen in his many commercials, CR7 is a total natural on-screen, exuding so much charm and confidence,” Ruben Malaret said to Hollywoodlife.com.
“We know he’s totally going to knock it out of the park in his big U.S. TV debut!”
Also, according to his spokesperson, the Portuguese ace is working on other deals and projects on the side for his American admirers. We hope it is big enough to make them forgive him for being MIA in El Clasico Miami on Saturday!
