Ronaldo BURNS Camp Nou with ‘Messi shirt’ celebration

Cristiano Ronaldo ruffled some Catalonian feathers by replicating Lionel Messi’s mischievous celebration at the Santiago Bernabeu last season.

Per the first law of karma, what goes around indeed comes around! The 32-year-old striker retrospectively gave his fans and antagonists a taste of his arch-nemesis’ celebratory stance that was unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu last season after the Argentine secured a last-gasp winner in his side’s 3:2 victory.

The four-time Ballon d’Or winner smashed in a long range effort to double his side’s advantage over Barcelona after being on the field for just 22 minutes.

Knowing the magnitude of his goal Cristiano Ronaldo, after flexing his great upper physique, quickly held up his jersey to provoke a more hostile reaction from the natives of Catalonia. Here are some of the best tweets at accompanied his feat.

What a way to mark going level with Di Stefano’s appearance record for Real Madrid! Although Ronaldo’s spell lasted for barely 25 minutes, his overall outing for Los Blancos is momentarily par with the legendary striker’s at 396 apiece. Needless to say, the Portuguese extended his total goal tally to 408 while the former Galactico sits at 307.

On the subject of goal celebration, it turns out the “Messi shirt celebration” Ronaldo replicated on Sunday was originally minted by his close buddy Marcelo before it was tapped up by the Barcelona number 10. Go figure!

Besides, the difference is that one man, after his celebration, may clinch a title and score a medal. The other will be noted for taking delight in scoring the most irrelevant last-gasp winner and resorting to the most pointless celebration ever as Barcelona went on to concede their Spanish Primera Division title to Los Blancos. Who is laughing now?!

YASSS! Deal with it, Camp Nou!
