Cristiano Ronaldo has left Madrid ahead of the UEFA Football Awards scheduled at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
The super star is poised for his individual contests after helping Los Blancos to the UEFA Champions League and Spanish La Liga titles last season. He once again starred as Real Madrid were victors against Fiorentina in the Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu.
At half time, the Portuguese looked ecstatic when he took over the captaincy role from Sergio Ramos who was subbed off. The 32-year-old displayed leadership skills as he controlled his teammates in keeping their 2-1 lead.
However, it is sad that the Real Madrid talisman will not be available in his side’s next three games. He is serving a five-game ban after an appeal from Los Merengues was rejected by TAD. But nothing will stop the Madeira born icon from doing what he does best; he expressed his disappointment on the verdict and stressed on the injustice he has faced. In support, Ronaldo’s sisters, Katia and Elma Aveiro, voiced out their opinions on Instagram.
That of course will not deter the high flying winger as he marches on to further glory in Monaco. Per his exceptional run last season, CR7 will be expecting two gongs; the UEFA Best Player of the Year and the UEFA Forward of the Year award. Scooping the two crowns will certainly enrich his museum, Museu CR7.

The four-time Ballon d’Or winner will be the first player to claim the UEFA Best Player award for a second successive season. Good luck, champ!
