The official apparel and cleats sponsor of the Real Madrid superstar launched the new Mercurial Superfly CR7 chapter 5: Cut to brilliance boots.

The inspiration behind the design of Ronaldo’s ever-growing boots series are his goals, Real Madrid, and more goals. At 32 years of age, the Portuguese superstar still has great hunger to put the ball at the back of the net for both club and country.

Ronaldo’s world record £80m transfer from Manchester United to the Liga title holders in 2009 serves as the main idea behind the chapter 5 design as well as representing a stage in his career where he smashed the goalscoring records at Real Madrid.

The UEFA Best Player is expected to wear his new cleats in time for Los Blancos in their upcoming Champions League games against Borussia Dortmund on September 26 and Tottenham Hotspur on October 17.

Cristiano marked his debut with a goal for the European champions and has gone on to become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer. With determination and hard work, the forward has ensured to improve his ruthlessness in front of goal at a fast pace since moving to the Spanish capital. The Madeira-born sensation has also become the first player to score against every La Liga club in one season.

As for the design, the CR7 Chapter 5 boots feature a diamond-inspired graphic on a white base that sparkles under the lights. The upper includes multi-color knit details showing the multitude of colors diamonds refract. On the medial side of the boot, a textured CR7 logo provides a tactile representation of the diamond graphic while the heel provides a vertical view of a superbly-cut diamond showing the date of Ronaldo’s Madrid debut.

The high heel reads “El Sueño Del Niño” (the dream of the child) as these were the words Ronaldo shared with Nike’s design team to describe how he felt about joining Real Madrid and being welcomed by 80,000 at his unveiling at the Bernabeu. Diamonds, signature logo and a nod to goalscoring records. Very CR7 indeed.

In an interview with Nike Football, the superstar showed his delight at the new design as he was quoted saying:

“The details of the white boots, the color, the diamonds, they are beautiful; they are cool. I am sure, 100 percent, people are gonna like it.”

The new Mercurial Superfly Chapter 5 boots will be available in Nike stores on September 29, 2017.
