Ronaldo had start in 2017/18 La Liga as Real Mdrid lost 1-0 to Real Betis

The 32-year-old winger’s comeback was mauled by Los Verderones at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Bad night for Cristiano Ronaldo! The superstar had his first defeat of the 2017/18 La Liga campaign. Returning from a five-match sanction picked earlier in the Supercopa de Espana game played at the Camp Nou, Cristiano suffered an unlucky night as Real Madrid’s 27 shots could not locate goalkeeper Antonio Adan’s net.

Real Betis striker Antonio Sanabria’s 94th minute header was enough to silence the Bernabeu faithful and of course, CR7 fans who were eager to see their idol establish a sublime start in the Spanish league. Los Blancos are now seven points adrift league leaders Barcelona. Lionel Messi’s nine goals also lead the goal king race with Ronaldo drawing a zero mark on his first contest in the league.

Ronaldo’s fans reacted on Twitter with several opinions on the encounter with some offering harsh criticisms as others reiterated the iconic number 7’s quality. Well it’s just a bad day at the office, lads. The boss will certainly bounce back! Check out the tweets below:
