Of course, there’s no way Portugal and Argentina will be drawn in the same group at the 2018 FIFA World Cup…

So the line up for the 32 participating nations at the World Cup is complete. Australia booked the penultimate spot at Honduras’ expense while Peru dismantled New Zealand 2-0 on home soil to grab the final place. For Cristiano Ronaldo, the November 2017 international break was free from any sort of hassle.

Firstly, because his 15 goals in the UEFA World Cup qualifiers fired his nation to Russia automatically as Group B winners. Secondly, because the reigning European champions then had the luxury of resting veterans and test younger players in their 3-0 demolition of Saudi Arabia and 1-1 draw against the United States.

Ronaldo, who became a father on November 12 as girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to Alana Martina, is now anticipating — like the rest of us — the outcome of the 2018 FIFA World Cup group stages draw. The eight groups will be revealed on December 1, at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
