Cristiano Ronaldo is reeling to set the Parc des Princes alight in his newly-crafted Nike cleat.
Real Madrid will travel to France to take on Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, March 6 in their second UEFA Champions League Round of 16 game. Having won the first leg by a 3-1 scoreline, Los Blancos will be aiming to repeat a similar performance so as to further their agenda of winning the European cup for a third consecutive time.
On that day poster boy of the Spanish club, Cristiano Ronaldo, will for the first time wear his new boots dubbed the Nike Mercurial Superfly 360 x Kim Jones. The cheetah print boot with an orange exterior was unveiled by Nike and English designer Kim Jones on Friday.
The latter collaborated with the footwear giants to create the boot which he admits was inspired by his African roots.
“I grew up in Africa and have always admired the strength of animals,” he said via the Daily Mail.
“The cheetah is the fastest land animal, so it makes complete sense as an inspiration for me.”
The boot has the cheetah’s black-spotted pattern all over its body and underside and also graces the sole along with the traditional Mercurial logo ‘M’ and Cristiano Ronaldo signature ‘CR7’. Regarding where fans can acquire it, the boots will be exclusively on sale at Nike Store Paris Champs Elysees and on nike.com during half-time of Real Madrid’s match versus PSG on March 6.
Cristiano Ronaldo shared an image on his Instagram story holding his personalized pair of the boot after being pictured wearing them in training on Thursday.
