Another day, another Cristiano Ronaldo record!
Prior to kick-off, it was his beard that caught the attention of many but the Portuguese skipper gave his fans and his country a lot more to smile about. After impressing in the opening game against Spain by bagging a hattrick, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner needed just four minutes into Portugal’s second group game with Morocco to underline why he is the best player to have ever played the sport.

A brilliant cross from Joao Moutinho was met with a bullet header by Cristiano Ronaldo, the latter subsequently taking his tally at the 2018 World Cup to four in just two games. Per the record books, the feat meant the Madeira-born forward has now scored more international goals than any other European player in the history of football with 85 goals.
He has pipped the legendary Ferenc Puskas (84) to the second position on the all-time international top goalscorer’s list and only trails Iran’s Ali Daei who has a total tally of 109. Likewise, Ronaldo became the first Portuguese player since Jose Torres in 1966 to score a goal with his right, left and head in a single World Cup campaign.
Now, can you beat that?
